Angels Descend
Send me an Angel that looks like me
So I know Heaven is truly real.
This is what I wrote while gazing at the sunless sky on my morning commute to work. From this short poem I envisioned a photo series that depicted angelic beings. I searched for references only to find limited black representations.
When we think of heaven or the afterlife, we’re continuously met with white-washed depictions. This project will capture angels of color and showcase our divinity and beauty. It will also present prompts that question beliefs and biases.
How far would you go to avoid dying alone?
Would your current knowledge stop your interest
in becoming like God?
What if Eve was Adam,
and Lucifer was a woman?
Would women still receive the weight of the blame?
Is your love like Adam choosing to sin with Eve
or
God loving them despite their sins?
